Paris Paper & Stationery

A very atmospheric shop

Mélodies Graphiques

There's a little boutique in Paris at 10 Rue du Pont Louis-Philippe that epitomizes my idea of what a timeless shop be.
Mélodies Graphiques is filled with new and vintage writing accessories, calligraphy supplies, specialty papers and just beautiful ephemera in general. What a little gem of a place.

I happened to stumble upon it when we were in Paris last September and it was one of my favorite places. The walls are stone and every nook and cranny is filled with intriguing, interesting and lovely finds.

Of course, you have to be someone who likes this kind of stuff, but if you're on this site, I imagine you are.
From wax seals, to vintage style stickers, ink, decorative domino papers and prints...these are just some of the things that grace the walls and shelves.

In a day where the prevailing retail aesthetic is minimalist, cool (as in hip) and cold, it's such a treat to be in a place that feels real and cozy.

All kinds of stationery delights

Prices are not inexpensive, but you'd be hard pressed to visit and not leave with something. It's the kind of place that draws you in. And there is something about collections of things, right?

What I mean is, when you see a French macaron by itself, it looks delectable. But when you see an array of the macarons in a rainbow of color, they're irresistible.

I brought home handmade papers, envelopes, a Family Tree fill-in print and little gold monogram stickers in a fanciful font.
Below is the link to the shop and if you happen to be in Paris.
